Happy 7/11

I hear they're giving out free slurpies today at 7/11. Just sayin... We are finally back home and settling in. It's been a crazy, but wonderful three weeks. We went on our honeymoon to San Diego (post to follow), then we were back for a few days and then spent a week up at my parents and had our reception up there (post to follow) and now we're back in SLC. We went to our ward for the first time yesterday and there were two other couples that had just moved in. And one of them were also Christensens...whatev. It looks like it will be a fun ward with lots of diversity. We'll probably get put in the primary. It looked like there were at least a thousand kids. So this last weekend we went camping up in big cottonwood canyon at Spruces. Jason's fam used to go there every year when he was a kid so he loves it up there. We had to drive up the canyon 4 times that day to make it happen first to put our name on the waiting list, then to set up our stuff, then to rain proof everything and finally to camp. I guess I only came up 2 of the 4 times. We had a great time even though there was a crazy storm that night. We managed to keep dry, but we didn't sleep very well because it was SO loud. I seriously thought we were done for at one point. I also didn't sleep very well because I ate like a half a pack of oreos and made myself sick. I seriously thought I was going to puke. Who does that? Let me tell you...I have learned my lesson. So other than that...it was a lovely time.

Jason saying "welcome to the mountains"

Please excuse my total lack of make up.

So excited for jiffy pop and blueberry pankcakes. Too bad somebody forgot the spatula so pancakes were an utter failure.

Also, I got a JOB! I start the 25th, which works out quite nicely since my last day at Glycosan is on Friday. So I get a week off. Booya. I think we're going to hike King's peak sometime during the week so that will be fun. I hope it doesn't snow like it did last time I tried to do it. I also hope I survive it. I haven't excercised in a month and it's 30 miles round trip...

This being married thing is great. It's so awesome that we can take trips together now all by ourselves whenever we want. It's also very nice when I get a flat tire and I have a husband to come save the day. When we got back from Washington I went to go to work the next day, got in my car, drove for a block and a half and then realized (from the terrible clunking noises my car was making) that my tire was completely flat. I think I changed a tire in driver's ed (10+ years ago), but for the life of me I couldn't figure out how to jack my car up so Jason came to rescue me.

So happy.

I think that's all for now. I'll post pictures from the WA reception as soon as I get them.

p.s. Can I just say that I think my number 1 pet peeve is when the automatic flushers keep flushing while you're trying to tuck in and zip up. Seriously, the toilets at work flush like 7 times before I get out of the stall. It makes me more angry than I can say.
